The Golden Guides, originally Golden Nature Guides, are a course of 4-color pocket-sized books that were created by Western Publishing and published under their "Golden Press" sketch out~ beginning in 1949. The series began in the manner that field guides with such titles while Birds (1949), Flowers (1950), and Mammals (1955), and that time expanded to a wider range of subjects. These titles included Geology, Photography and Heart. Edited by Herbert S. Zim and Vera Webster, the books were written ~ dint of. experts in their field and illustrated in a unmingled straightforward style.
